first time posting a book stack, kind of nervous…
WARNING: SINCERITY AHEAD ‼️
I am so grateful that in a world that feels like it’s on the brink of ending, in a country that is fast tracking its way to fascism, in a year where everything felt bad at every turn, that I made important books with inspiring creatives surrounded by amazing colleagues and union comrades. To be able to put TWO incredible trans memoirs in the world, by two divas whom I ADORE
@dylanmulvaney and
@jamesissmiling , is such an honor and such a thrilling fuck you to transphobes everywhere. I worked on WARDS OF THE STATE for years, a book about the foster care to prison pipeline, knowing it would be important and impactful, so for it to be an NBA finalist was so gratifying. Jon Stock’s THE SLEEP ROOM is for sure the scariest book I’ve ever edited, but while the morbid fascination is certainly with the evil doctor, the real heroes are the women who survived him and got to tell their stories in this book. And of course, there is my darling little illustrated book LOVE LESSONS, which has the NEW, UPDATED love languages since the 5 you’ve all been talking about just don’t cut it anymore. Now there’s 9. Lock in.
This year I had my first nytimes bestseller, my first National Book Award finalist, an incredibly successful union campaign, and I was a Publisher’s Weekly rising star honoree ☺️ And, I acquired more exciting projects that are TK in 2027 and 2028! Coming to you in 2026 is five more books from me, and hopefully a signed union contract for my beautiful Abrams fam. okayyyyy ilysm bye!
