May is ALS Awareness Month. ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with their muscles. It’s estimated that out of pocket yearly care expenses can reach upwards of $250,000.
The ALS Association is made up of volunteers who are living with ALS, loved ones, caregivers, advocates, and dedicated staff. Their goal is to improve the lives of those living with ALS and ultimately find a cure.
