A lot of contractors don’t lose money on the install… They lose it during the estimate. One missed curve. One rough square footage guess. One inaccurate measurement around a pool, patio, or landscape border... and suddenly the numbers don’t work anymore. That’s why more outdoor contractors are switching to motion-based measuring. No wheels slipping. No sketching everything by hand. No trying to piece measurements together back at the office. Just walk the site and capture accurate square footage, perimeter, elevation, and layout data as you go. Built for contractors working in: āœ” Landscaping āœ” Pool construction āœ” Hardscaping āœ” Artificial turf āœ” Concrete & paving āœ” Outdoor living projects Real feedback from real job sites. šŸ‘Š

From tape measures and wheels… to one tool that captures it all. Dante’s projects range from 400 sq ft pool decks to 3,000 sq ft sports courts, spaces where curves, angles, and elevation changes make accuracy harder to achieve with manual methods. By measuring as he walks, he’s able to capture square footage, linear distances, and layout in one pass, without switching tools or rebuilding plans later. The result: āœ… More accurate estimates āœ… Less time measuring āœ… More time with customers 60% less time estimating, because the data is captured right the first time.

Measuring stairs isn’t just about distance, it’s about elevation, consistency, and capturing every change in level. Watch how Barry measures a full staircase using motion, recording each step, slope, and transition in one continuous path. No resetting. No breaking the flow. No manual calculations later. With three perspectives in one video, you can see exactly what’s happening: 1ļøāƒ£ The device capturing movement in real time 2ļøāƒ£ The user walking the site naturally 3ļøāƒ£ The digital site plan building instantly in the app For contractors, landscapers, and construction professionals, stairs and elevation changes are where traditional tools start to slow you down. Measuring wheels lose contact. Tape measures require resets or string lines. And translating that into usable data takes time. By measuring as you move, every step is recorded, distance, elevation, and layout, so you leave site with a complete, usable plan. No guesswork. Just accurate data.

Why are your site visits taking so long? šŸ‘‡ If you’re: • Switching between measuring tools • Manually taking notes • Recalculating measurements • Revisiting sites again and again šŸ‘‰ Your workflow is slowing you down. There’s a faster way to measure. āœ” Measure as you walk āœ” Capture all your data whilst walking āœ” Eliminate manual calculations āœ” Reduce rework and repeat visits Stop wasting time on site. Start working smarter.

We've all tried to do this with a tape measure... 🫣 Trying to pull a tape around a bend, keeping tension, marking points, second-guessing the line… usually needing another set of hands just to make it work. Then comparing that to walking it. One pass, no resets, no sketching, just a complete layout as you move. Same site. Two approaches. Motion won this one.

Most site measurements don’t go wrong all at once, they drift. A rounded number here. A missed angle there. Before long, you’re working from something that looks right… but isn’t. This is what measuring without guesswork actually looks like. Captured as you move. Calculated as you go. Ready when you finish.

Let’s generate a topographic map together. From footpaths to full layout, seeing how it all connects when using motion-measuring. #Moasure #topographicmap

If you’re a landscaper, chances are you’ve used a measuring wheel more times than you can count. It works... until you hit curves, tight edges, or changes in elevation. Then it becomes a lot of stopping, adjusting, and estimating to fill in the gaps. In this video, Barry walks through a different approach. Instead of rolling over the surface, he moves through the space, capturing distance, direction, and elevation together as he goes. A practical shift for measuring irregular layouts on real landscaping jobs.
