We are just one week until we swap for a cause during our next Swap Society event at MoA Fort Collins!
Last time, this community blew us away by diverting 16 bags of clothing to local nonprofits. Ready to beat this record on May 23rd? We are! 👀
Whether you are looking to refresh your style or simply want to support a more circular, sustainable Fort Collins, this is the place to be.
When: Saturday, May 23rd | 11am–2pm
Where: Museum of Art Fort Collins
Bonus: bring items to share and score 2 FREE passes to the museum.
No clothes to swap? No problem. Come browse, find something "new to you," and join the society. See you next week!
From the sky above to the bikers on our streets, the spirit of our 2026 MASKS exhibit is woven into the fabric of our NoCo community. As you look through these images, you'll find a story of partnership and perseverance at the heart of the art.
We’ve teamed up with WomenGive to provide a creative platform for dreamers and mothers like Lizzy Henderson. For Lizzy, being featured in this exhibit is a full-circle moment; she once visited the Museum of Art Fort Collins as a dreamer from afar, and today, her work helps define its walls.
Her mask was inspired by Haley Heynderickx’s song “The Bug Collector,” a recurring anthem in her life. It serves as a beautiful metaphor for the way we can validate the fears and anxieties of those we love, like a child afraid of a small bug, by showing them they are safe.
As a single mother navigating the "growing pains" of returning to school, Lizzy found that art became her voice when words weren't enough. Through the support of WomenGive, she was able to bridge the gap between day-to-day survival and a future filled with creativity and hope. Her mask is more than an art piece; it is a tangible reflection of her resilience and the community that helped alleviate her worries along the way.
Her story reminds us that self-actualization isn’t a solo journey; it’s about lifting each other up, honoring our unique stories, and building a community where everyone belongs.
(And remember, as Lizzy says: it’s okay if you’re still afraid of spiders!)
Ever wonder what it takes to turn a blank canvas into a masterpiece? The Masks Exhibition isn't just a gallery; it’s a months-long journey of imagination, sawdust, paint, and passion.
From the initial spark of an idea to the final brushstroke, each piece in this collection represents a community-wide labor of love. We’re taking you behind the scenes to show the evolution of these masks…capturing the raw process that keeps the Museum of Art Fort Collins thriving as the heartbeat of Northern Colorado.
It’s more than just an exhibition; it’s a testament to what happens when we connect art, artists, and community through the creative process.

Calling All Artists! Applications are now open for the Artist Opportunity Grant through the City of Fort Collins Arts & Culture Department!
The Artist Opportunity Grant provides unrestricted funding that artists can use for whatever they need most, whether that is rent, groceries, bills, supplies, or other day-to-day expenses, helping create more financial stability and space for them to focus on their artistic work.
The total grant award is $3,000, with $2,500 disbursed after submission of a W9 and signed contract. The remaining $500 will be disbursed after proof of completion of a free public presentation of the artist’s work.
