We did it!! ⊛ ⊛
When we first conceived of Stoopfest, we set out to invite artists and community for a day of public art and play-making in our neighborhoods. Now, after many months of planning, we made a weekend of merriment, performance, and community bigger and more audacious than we imagined.
Thanks to our team of collaborators, creatives, and clowns for everything you made. Thanks to the stoop hosts for welcoming us into your yards and decks, lots and living rooms to give us space to share stories and songs. Thanks to all our volunteers for taking photos and videos, building sets and costumes, and leading our procession from there to here. Thanks to the Moab City RAP Tax and Project Rainbow Utah for granting funds that ensured our event would be free-of-charge and available to all. Thanks to all of you who came to revel with us.
This event was made by 𝕖𝕡𝕙𝕖𝕞𝕖𝕣𝕒𝕝 𝕔𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖, a truly collaborative organization committed to art-making on the Colorado Plateau. If you’re looking for an umbrella under which to publish your art, lead a workshop, or produce an event, please consider ephemeral. Follow @ephemeral.moab and sign up for our newsletter to stay in touch.
In these times of drought and deficit, remember that creation and community are the best fortification we have. Extend invitations, resist our siloes, and keep making art. ⊛
