The jobs we assumed were safe because they required creativity, judgment, and expertise are being quietly renegotiated.
An AI can now take a location, a set of preferences, and a brief and produce a structurally sound architectural design. The best architects will adapt, using AI as a tool or offering something deeper: an understanding of the person, not just the building. Those roles will survive. But they will be a fraction of what existed before.
I ask myself the same question about my own work. Writing, thinking, synthesizing ideas, these feel human. But for how much longer will I be able to produce something genuinely smarter than what a machine can generate?
That is not a rhetorical question. It is the most honest one any of us in knowledge work should be sitting with right now.
