Behind @lightcraft.tv ’s cinematic ingenuity is an amazing team of pilots, operators, technicians, creatives and thinkers. We couldn’t be more proud of our crew, and excitedly introduce you to another key player in our success, Lightcraft Equipment Manager Michael Nerud.
@mnerud has been the equipment manager at Lightcraft since 2021. What started as an email looking for a possible internship has blossomed into a full-time career handling the daily responsibilities of renting, maintaining, and prepping equipment for jobs all around the world. Michael has been passionate about making films since his youth and has always desired to understand not just the art of filmmaking, but the technology and equipment behind the visuals. Michael brings the knowledge gained from freelance work and studying Cinema Arts at Biola University into Lightcraft. His desire to learn continually helps Lightcraft push the envelope of cutting edge visuals and adapt to the ever evolving field of cinema equipment.

I remember summer 2021 Mi had just started off as an intern at Lightcraft as happy as a bean. He called me on one of his lunch breaks stoked to tell me that Aether was making a surf movie and it was going to be crazyyyy. After seeing it in completion last night, crazy. it. was. As someone who does not surf anddd has reached the age where watching movies in the theater is an expensive nap lol consider me wowed & impressed. Mi, those big long prep days or last minute calls to get gear ready because the waves were set to be epic was so worth it. I’ve always thought your job and where you worked was cool, but this was the cherry on top. Proud of you bestie, and congrats @aetherfilms@lightcraft.tv ♥️

Happy anniversary love. I can not believe it’s been a year since our wedding. It feels like just yesterday I was getting all teary eyed watching you walk down the aisle and yet it also feels like we’ve been married for years. I am so blessed to do life with you! Through the good and the hard you’ve been right there making me laugh, grow as a man and appreciate life. I love you Angel and I’m so thankful to everyone who has encouraged and loved us in this last year!
