Tonight we’d like to proudly introduce you to our brand new single ‘Bring Me to Life’ available now for download and streaming.
Based on Telita’s poem of the same name, ‘Bring me to Life’ draws on the feelings when connecting with someone as a way of avoiding pain, having lost a love, and yourself and your way as a result.
Bring me to life:
About five or six years ago I was dating somebody and after a few weeks I realised, he was still in love with somebody else. I felt sad but I was also in place where I was thinking about what it must be like for him. ‘Bring me to Life’ is written from his perspective, as I realised he was spending time with me to avoid facing the painful feelings for whoever this person was, trying to fill a void and the poem just poured out of me.
I’m just gonna say thankyou to my muse, He seemed like he was trying to find something to help him feel found again. Even though I hadn’t shared much of my poetry I felt drawn to share this one with Richard, who really connected with the story and said “this should be a song”.
We would like to thank everyone involved in the creation of this song, featuring the talented Sam Torma on Cello and the Central Coast’s fabulous ‘Heart & Soul Choir’.
