Me, Myself and AI
Last year, Bernadette (
@bernadettemarialeitner ) Manuel (
@manuel.bonell ), Flavia (
@flavia_mazz ) and Wilhelm (
@ml.hl.w ) worked together on an artistic-research project exploring the possibilities of virtual spaces in the process of identity development, self-perception, and self-expression.
Through the use of tracking suits, two performers merge their physical bodies with a series of digital selves, which have been created through the exchange with different individuals reflecting on their potential digital personas. With the support of AI tools, these feelings and emotions have been translated into fluid and transformative avatars, later embodied by two performers. Our focus here was to investigate the boundaries between the tangible and the digital, creating a space where individuals could authentically represent themselves in the digital realm while provoking thoughtful contemplation about the intersections of identity and technology.
The process involved many different steps, which have been documented in the following video work: /1013081037
