A Season has a cover! Along with sharp and generous blurbs by @aditimachado , @joyellemcsweeney , @instazawacki , & @jessicatanck . And, to top it off, you can (and are encouraged to!) pre-order it via the link in my bio. Thank you again to @instazawacki for believing in the book and to @ugapress for giving it such a good home. I wrote it some years ago during a difficult but (in hindsight) fruitful season of my life, and it’s been gratifying and a little surreal to watch its slow birth into the light of day. (Cover image by the late Chang Chao-Tang, a remarkable photographer whose work more people should know)

@instazawacki was kind enough to ask me some sharp questions about pleasure, pain, “the body,” and belatedness as they pertain to A Season, and now you can read our little discussion at the @ugapress blog. Thanks to Drew for providing the occasion for me to think aloud about these things. Highlights above, full interview at link in bio.

Celebrate the launch of Winter Night Rabbit Worries (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2026) by Yoo Heekyung, translated from the Korean by Stine An at Poets House on Wednesday, April 22. Structured as a series of stories, Yoo’s fifth poetry collection presents narrative and linguistic architectures that dissolve the opposition between those materials that construct the this and the that side of life—past and future, truth and falsehood, memory and fantasy. As readers move from one story to another, they will encounter a dizzying yet tender experience in which the boundaries between self and other unravel, and new stories begin to take shape. Join poet Yoo Heekyung and translator Stine An for a reading and Q&A on their collaborative translation process. This event will also feature readings from PIROWA PADOWA (Saturnalia Books, 2025) by Lee Jenny, translated from Korean by Archana Madhavan, and A Season (University of Georgia Press, 2026) by Michael Joseph Walsh. RSVP at the link in our bio!

Happy incarnation to A Season, my second book, which is now officially out from @ugapress . Mille mercis to @instazawacki for choosing it and to everyone at @ugapress for shepherding it into the light of day. And endless gratitude to @aditimachado , @joyellemcsweeney , @instazawacki (again!), and @jessicatanck for the lovely blurbs. I started writing the poems that would make up this book almost a decade ago, and I couldn’t be happier to share them with you now. It’s available direct from the press at the link in my bio, and wherever else books are sold.

Me, Baltimore, AWP: First I’ll be reading with these luminaries assembled by @mercury_firs , @grottojournal , @peel__lit , & @tiltedhouse . Then on Friday I’ll be signing freshly pub’d copies of A Season at the @ugapress table. I will otherwise be making my usual aimless rounds of the book fair / booking it to this or that reading (perhaps yours). Come look for me, and I’ll be looking for you.

Belated grid post for poems from A Season that have recently appeared in the world, for which I am v grateful. Most recently: Four poems that previously appeared in a journal that has since vanished now rest eternally at the @communitymausoleum . Thank you to the great @zerkperkem for so lavishly reinterring them. Less recently: A selection of poems from the first half of the book appears in the unfairly stacked first issue of @eitherormagazine . Thank you to the mighty @nickgulig for the roster spot. Links to both via the “Writing” link on my website, which (you know the drill) is in my bio.
