In his 2025 State of the City, Mayor Brandon Scott called out the importance of CTE (Career Training Education) and real career pathways for young people. With bridges rebuilding, tunnels expanding, and tech and infrastructure jobs rising right now, this article explains why City Schools must meet the moment and prepare this generation for the workforce being built around them. As Commissioner, I believe the Minority Women Business Enterprise Symposium is more than an event. It is a strategic commitment to ensuring Baltimore based minority and women owned businesses have real, meaningful access to procurement opportunities within Baltimore City Schools. My commitment is to help build intentional bridges between our school system and the local business community so that the companies rooted in our neighborhoods have the opportunity to compete, grow, and scale. By connecting these businesses to contracting pathways, key resources, and decision makers, we are not only creating greater equity in procurement, we are strengthening Baltimore’s economic foundation. When local businesses grow, they hire more Baltimore residents, create more jobs, and expand opportunities for the young people who will soon enter our workforce. This work is about building an ecosystem where public institutions invest directly into the communities they serve. Through initiatives like this symposium, we are creating a stronger pipeline between education, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and long term economic mobility for Baltimore families.#baltimorecityschool #bcs #commissionermuhammad

They showed up for the vision. And that matters. Grateful for everyone who came out to the KEYS Community Healing Village construction meet up and stood with us as we continue building something this community truly deserves. Special thanks to Councilman John Bullock, the office of Senator Alsobrooks, the office of Senator Van Hollen, and our construction team at Corenic Construction for your leadership, partnership, and commitment to bringing this vision to life. To our community members, leaders, partners, and well wishers, thank you for believing, showing up, and leaning in. This is bigger than a project. This is about healing, opportunity, and long term impact. We’re not just talking about change. We’re building it.

MASJID UL HAQQ 2030 Community development project! “And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah — He will replace it, and He is the Best of Providers.” (Qur’an 34:39) Baltimore is witnessing something historic… Over 250 souls have embraced Islam in just the last 6 weeks at Masjid Ul-Haqq. This is not just growth — this is responsibility. This is not just numbers — this is trust from Allah. Every Shahādah is a life… A story… A journey that now depends on us to nurture, teach, and sustain. 🌱 But Shahādah is only the beginning… We are building systems to protect, grow, and empower this wave of believers: 🔹 New Shahādah Support Pipeline (NSINC) Mentorship, foundational learning, and life integration 🔹 Education Initiative Structured Islamic education in Aqeedah, Seerah, Tafsir, and real-life application 🔹 Family & Stability Services Marriage guidance, counseling, and household development 🔹 Youth & Identity Programs Champion builders for ages 13–30 to anchor the next generation 🔹 Community Resource Hub (Masjid Ul-Haqq 2030 Vision) • Job readiness & workforce pathways • Mental health & wellness support • Food security & distribution programs • Reentry & rehabilitation support • Financial literacy & homeownership guidance ✨ This is more than a masjid… This is a movement. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people.” (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ) Today, YOU have the opportunity to be from them. Your donation is not just charity… It is guidance for a new Muslim It is stability for a struggling family It is hope for a community rising 💰 Give what you can. Give what you love. Give what will outlive you. Because what we build today… will carry generations tomorrow. 🔗 Donate now.
