The ground, the „Erdaufwurf“ as Gottfried Semper notes in his „Vier Elementen zur Baukunst“, not only carries our water, it is also the basis of life for plants, animals and human beings. Instead of relying on heating, cooling or insulation, purely architectural strategies should be developed to provide temperature stability, reduce energy consumption but also create new spatial qualities. For the program, the traditional form of the single-family-housing should be challenged in spatial, climatic and social terms, and its classic floor plans should be replaced by unconventional structures. The aim was to develop a spatial narrative closely connected to nature that engages with and transforms existing resources. Through experimentation with transitions between interior and exterior, light and darkness, and areas for socialising and retreat, it expresses a distinct aesthetic language. some scans of my diploma work with the title: „die resilienz eines gehöft - das weiterschreiben einer struktur“ the approach of the design methodology makes use of three essential elements, which are „incorporating what exists“, „continuing what exists“ and „making visible what has been lost“, and which are intended to create a rebuilding attitude that is a continuation of existing elements and structures. a city dweller in dialogue with the time and place in which he primarily seeks refuge and the
socio-economic cohesion with a person who, shaped by this place, tries to understand the world, is to work through the stigmas of our time.
a symbiosis between an urban collective and a farmer, both on a sociological and constructional level is to be created, which will open up an alternative possibility for the preservation of a homestead. supervison by @elledici

learning from peter märkli haus mels, 1979 duplex house a symmetrical structure divided into two separate households, separated yet connected by a central entrance hall. the strict arrangement of the columns on the front façade is reminiscent of a palladian villa.

defined by zoning, the body appears free yet seeks sameness. true equality implies symmetry and mirroring, which it resists. free form and grid interact, two bodies negotiating. Stairs and fireplace shape space. distance turns to cautious contact; structure lightens, dissolves, fragments blur, until separation fades and everything merges into one.
