Whilst it's been the typical astounding opening month of the #bbcproms, this past weekend was a first; an all night festival extravaganza, enthralling audiences from 2300 until 0700. Curated by superstar organist
@annalapwoodorgan this nocturnal marathon featured Nowegian folk ensemble

The months of planning and logistics to integrate this into a seamless eight hour show and live broadcast were intricate and challenging, as were the week of rehearsals fitting around an already busy season. Fuelled by caffeine, Haribo and the desire to always deliver above and beyond, it was the team on the ground who expertly kept everything going throughout the night, despite the odd internal eyelid inspection. And who knew that classical music audiences weren't just vespertine, but would fill the Royal Albert Hall until dawn with their bleary eyes and big smiles?
