Honored to receive the Pan-African American Leadership Lifetime Achievement Award. I dedicate this to my amazing wife for her unwavering partnership, to my kids who inspire me daily to be the best role model I can be, and to my mother in heaven whose wisdom still guides me. 🎂 🥳 This past year has been one of mixed blessings.
Lost some and made some new friends. #life
The highlight for me has been the 3k plus Fulshear residents I met during this past year. Getting to connect one-on-one with them is something I will remember for the rest of my life. #connection
Moving forward:
Use the wisdom gained over the years to live more authentically.
Prayer to self:
I pray that the Lord will bless and protect me and that he will show me mercy and kindness. May the Lord be good to me and give me peace.
"Amen"

OPINION | The Burna Boy "Ban" and the Necessity of Truth
The dust is settling on the Burna Boy/DJ Tunez saga, and as I suspected, the narrative was messy. The Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) has now officially refuted claims of a music ban, calling out "misleading media reports."
My previous take on this wasn't about choosing sides, it was about professionalism. Many misunderstood my point on solidarity, so let me be clear: I stand for DJ unity. But for unity to work, we need the "full gist." If any association asks DJs to down tools, that order must be accompanied by a factual account of what transpired.
Here is why this matters in 2026:
Misinformation spreads like wildfire: Without an official story attached to a notice, we are at the mercy of blogs and rumors.
The "Streaming" Reality: In a world where 90% of music is consumed via digital platforms, a boycott based on "vibes" rather than verified facts only hurts the DJ’s influence while driving more private streams to the artist.
Whether it’s a ban or a refutation, we deserve respect as stakeholders. We aren't just "operators"; we are the heartbeat of the culture. Let’s keep the information as high-quality as the music we play.

OPINION: DJs Deserve the Truth, Not Just Orders
Regarding the Burna Boy/DJ Tunez ban: I am a solid pillar of this profession, and I will always stand for DJ solidarity. But solidarity must be built on respect and transparency.
If an association issues a global boycott, they owe us the "full gist" attached to the notice. On April 6, reports emerged of a physical altercation at Obi’s House in Lagos, allegedly sparked by a disagreement over a playlist. If we are expected to stop our work in support of a peer, we deserve the association's official record of these facts.
Why transparency matters in 2026:
Whether we like it or not, our influence is shifting. Streaming platforms now control 90% of the market. If we stop playing an artist's music without a clear, public reason, we don't "cancel" them. We drive their fans to stream them privately. This actually increases the artist’s revenue while making the DJ look out of the loop.
I support standing together, but let’s do it respectfully. Don't just give us an order; give us the truth. Put it on record that, the order is based on this and that.

Growing up in Nigeria as a young boy, action movies were everything to us. We wanted to be strong, fearless, and tough. Watching Chuck Norris on screen made many of us believe we could take on the world.
From his legendary fight alongside Bruce Lee in Way of the Dragon to his powerful action roles, he shaped my youth in ways I will never forget. Like many boys, I tried to be tough like him, even in my imagination.
He will always be a symbol of strength and courage to me.
RIP Hero.
