10 years in NYC.
It brings back memories of where I was and what I was looking for.
I was just trying everything in any way possible to reflect who I am — or who I might be.
Through all the trials and errors, I’d like to recognize that I’m in a more confident place now, with a sense of belonging, roots, and enjoyment🌼
I am forever thankful to the people in NY, studio, my friends for always listening to me and letting me feel like I belong in your heart 💞

Large plate with assembled Moji 😁
So excited from the result and looking to make more!

Trace of history and following its process always teach me something new!
My recent study goes from ceramics to textiles to paper cutting patterns - coming from Japan or from all over the world history!🛕🛖🗿🏯🗽📡
I just love how ceramics can carry so much story and functions connected to our lives.
I’m excited to discuss this too at my handbuilding class at @loftceramicstudio starting May 15 (every Wednesday 6:30-9pm)😉

Toki-No-Wa: Harmony of Time -
This show marked a significant moment in my life. As I was creating this body of work, I was also preparing for my wedding in Japan !
After 8 years of exploring my Moji series, l’ve expanded my skills, delved deeper into glazing, and examined the intersection of crafts/art and tradition. I’m grateful to have shared the space with Toshiko Takaezu’s pieces, made possible by Lucy’s (@lliuart ) curatorial vision at @uffnerliu .
I appreciate everyone who contributed to this show’s success. Thank you to Alejandro (@alejassanstudio ) for the video content, Fred (@fredvoon ) for the feature in The AMP magazine (@aaartsalliance ), and Joe (@joetokumasufield ) for the artist talk that helped me find my voice.
Thanks to everyone (from CBC, SSNYC, and Noguchi Museum staff) who spent the time to connect with the pieces or brought one home.
I’m taking a moment to reflect and plan my next artistic journey..💫
Until next time, love to you all💗
Thank you everybody for so many likes and follows throughout this exhibition at @uffnerliu ! It is so inspiring to see many people’s passion for ceramic journeys!✨
The history of ceramic travels with human, it literally is a vessel of life that repeats moving, settling, merging all around the world. I believe that as long as we keep our hands & heart close to the earth, we can all speak with peace and appreciate the nature of coexistence & harmony 🌏💗

I'm often asked if each sculpture originates from a specific letter. My answer is both yes and no. The series of work begun with writing, informed by the art of calligraphy, where meaning, gesture, and time are intertwined.
As the work develops, the forms decompose and combine, occasionally drifting away from any identifiable letter.
What remains is the gesture — a trace of cultural memory.

Toki - No - Wa ; Harmony of Time
My solo exhibition at @uffnerliu opened last Friday.
It's a privilege to showcase my work alongside the remarkable pieces of Toshiko Takaezu.
Although we never met, her impact on me has been significant, from my early days at Kent State in 2013 to the Noguchi museum's retrospective in 2024.
I believe still have a LONG way to develop my path, but I'm thankful for the chance to share our both passion for clay and connect across time!🙏🏼
Thank you all for the tremendous support and thank you @lliuart for curating such special exhibition!!
