Under dagen får ni en inblick i vad ljudkonst är, hur den vuxit fram historiskt och på vilka sätt den utövas idag. Ni kommer att få ta del av olika smakprov på ljudverk och bekanta er med vanliga verktyg.

DEEP LISTENING® IMMERSION AT KULTURHUSET SKOLAN -
VÄNNERSTA, SWEDEN 21-24 JULY 2025
Singer and composer-improviser Kristin Norderval and composer-improviser Björn Eriksson, together with tactile sound artist, improviser and instrument builder Patrick Dallard will lead participants through a deeper connection to listening with the Deep Listening® practices as developed by renowned composer-performer Pauline Oliveros (1932–2016) together with Heloise Gold and IONE.
Deep Listening® explores the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary, selective nature of listening. The practice includes bodywork, dreamwork, sonic meditations and interactive performance to cultivate a heightened awareness of one’s sonic environment, both external and internal. It is playful, collaborative, and improvisatory. As certified Deep Listening® practitioners, Kristin, Björn and Patrick continue Pauline Oliveros’s practice of attentive sonic awareness.
SCHEDULE 21-24 July:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday:
9.00-12:00 immersion; lunch; 14-17.30 immersion; dinner; 19-21 immersion
After dinner we enter a non-verbal timezone until coffee/tea break on the following day at 10.30.
Thursday 9.00-12 immersion; lunch; 14-15 wrap up.
Course fees: (including vegan lunches and dinners)
early bird booking until 15 July: 370 euros (4035 sek)
Lodging fees: (including breakfast)

Travel information:
Kramfors train station is the nearest train station. It is approximately 5 hours from Stockholm / Arlanda.

FOUR-DAY COURSE IN THE CREATIVE PHILOSOPHY OF DEEP LISTENING

Course instructors: Sharon Renee Stewart and Björn Eriksson.
Deep Listening® is a creative philosophy and practice that encompasses sound and music, movement, and dream work. Listening is at its core. The practice is rooted in the life’s work of the American composer and musician Pauline Oliveros, in collaboration with IONE and Heloise Gold. Through daily combinations of movement exercises, sound performance, and dream work, the group delves deeper into listening and collaborative processes. Throughout the week, there will be space for collaborative creation as well as individual creative work and writing. The workshop is designed for anyone interested in exploring and developing creativity collectively and individually with sound, music, dreams, and movements.
The course is led by Sharon Stewart (NL/US) and Björn Eriksson, both certified Deep Listening instructors who have studied under Pauline Oliveros.
