Proper @bigfatcabaret post to come soon (including the raffle total 👀) but for now I just wanted to say that last night gave me so much hope as a fat person living in a world that increasingly seems to hate fat people.
I love the community that I’ve built through Big Fat Cab, and while producing cabarets is poorly paid work (hence the song choice lol), last night was also a reminder of the IMMENSE generosity of that community.
Feeling v proud of what we’ve built and also v proud to be fat.

Alabama Whirley is the creator of @glorifiedcabaret the North’s fat positive cabaret show (aka Big Fat Cab’s Northern sibling), and a burlesque prinny.
Alabama blends emo and rhinestones with a splash of empowerment to create performances embodying fat liberation. Often found being a menace online and around Merseyside, she has been featured in documentaries, articles, podcasts, radio and magazines discussing fat liberation.
We are SO excited to be joined by our fat comrade in arms and you should be too!

the body becomes a shape becomes the stage becomes the audience becomes the queer community and all of their stories compacted together on the brim of explosion.

The "riotously funny" (The Independent) Gigi Zahir is a non-binary, mixed-race, musical theatre-maker and performer. After years pretending to be a good little drag queen, they boldly set down their crown, re-entering the cabaret world as a slippery AF, all-singing, all-genderf*cking drag shapeshifter.
They’ve performed everywhere from basement bars to the West End, opened for Chappell Roan, are currently developing UnHinged, a new musical comedy about queer dating in the digital age, and have been a guest lecturer at The London College of Music since 2024!
