I had the honour of speaking at the Economic Development Youth Summit last week. I shared the story of how Mitsoh started, the support we’ve had from our community, and what it really takes to bring an Indigenous food brand into grocery stores. It’s not an easy path. Grocery is tough. But when you have a bigger vision—to bring Indigenous foods back into the mainstream—every challenge is worth it. To the young entrepreneurs I met: keep going. Your ideas, your culture, and your stories belong at the table. That’s how we build the future, together. #EDYS2025 #IndigenousEntrepreneurship #mitsoh #indigenous

We’ve been counting down the days to share this flavour… and this video finally gives you a tiny teaser. Yup — cranberry!! And the berry we paired it with? It’s one of your favourites. You’re gonna lose it! The first run completely fell apart — but we weren’t adding chemicals just to make it work. We stayed true to clean, real ingredients …and it paid off 🤭 While we get ready to launch this holiday flavour, Black Friday deals are still live — up to 30% off.
Big reveal coming soon🎄🔥

Can you say this Cree word? 👀 We hit the streets with a few tough ones… Some nailed it. Some butchered it. All left with snacks. 🎥 Watch the full video to see who earned their Pemmican 🦬 #WordOnTheStreet #CreeChallenge #Mitsoh #StreetSnacks #indigenous #healthysnacking #indigenouslanguage #indigenousfood

Mitsoh: where tradition meets modern snacking. We’re the first Indigenous company to bring our traditional foods back into the mainstream. A thousand-year-old recipe, brought back to life with simple ingredients: bison, berries, salt, pepper, maple syrup, and love. Pemmican, one of the original forms of jerky, long before it ever existed in the mainstream. This isn’t just food. It’s a part of history. A story that dates back since time immemorial. #pemmican #jerky #beefjerky #indigenousmade #mitsoh #snacking #bison

This week’s word is Sakitowin: love. A simple word, but a big one. The kind that can show up in food, in family, in community, and in the things people choose to carry forward. #wordoftheweek #indigenousmade #mitsoh #creewords #love

Supporting Indigenous means more than just a product, it’s about respecting and honoring the traditions that have always been here. Bison, in particular, holds a deep connection to our people. Just as we’ve faced struggles, so has the bison. Now, we’re committed to bringing sustainability back and reviving the bison nation. This is about respect, tradition, and community. 🦬❤️ #bison #indigenous #indigenousmade #mitsoh

This Mother's Day, we're reflecting on the heart of Mitsoh. It all started with Ian’s mom in the kitchen making dry meat, a simple act that sparked a journey to honor family, preserve culture, and build something meaningful. Thank you to all the amazing mothers who inspire us every day. 💐 #mothersday #mitsoh #indigenousmade #pemmican #mothers

The more you learn, the more you realize there’s a timeline to all of this. Ingredients like flour, sugar, and salt weren’t always part of our foodways. They came through rations. And from there, people created, adapted, and carried things forward in different ways. But it also raises a bigger question: what did we eat before that? That’s where the conversation gets deeper. #mitsoh #pemmican #indigenousmade

I had another business before this one. It was good. It worked. But it wasn’t this. Mitsoh asked something different of me. It asked me to go all in. On the food. On the stories. On the community we’re building together. Not just for me. For all of us. Because here’s the thing. This isn’t really my story. It’s ours. Every person who wants real ingredients. Every person who wants food the way it’s always been. Every person who believes in something bigger than a snack. So I went all in. And now we’re stepping into the version of Mitsoh we’ve been picturing since day one. Something that belongs to all of us. This month, you’ll see what I mean 🦬

Pemmican has a long story. Rooted in Indigenous knowledge, it was made to last, to travel, and to sustain. Simple ingredients, prepared with purpose, carrying both practicality and tradition. Some foods don’t just feed people. They carry knowledge forward. #pemmican #indigenousmade #indigenous #mitsoh #knowledge #history

Someone asked me where I see Mitsoh in 5 years. Honest answer? We might be the first Indigenous food company to go national in this way. But the part that matters more? We hope we’re not the last. Last week, we won the pitch slam at the biggest distributor show in Canada @unficanada The craziest part? We’re not even fully listed with them yet. And that hit different. Because it tells me this isn’t just about a snack. It’s about what happens when you stop hiding your culture and start sharing it. What people have been waiting for wasn’t something new. It was something real. Mitsoh is a bridge. Between where we’ve been and where we’re going. And if you’ve been following along, quietly rooting for us, You’re part of this story too & We’re just getting started 🦬

This week’s word is Mitsoh. A pretty important one if you ask us. Simple, familiar, and connected to something everyone understands: food brings people together. Some words are small, but they carry a lot. #mitsoh #indigenousmade #pemmican #wordoftheweek
