UPIE is a project of lamps that we have been thinking about for a very long time. It has taken many different shapes and forms but has always kept the same story and intent. We have always seen lighting as a way to shape atmospheres and not so much as a technical tool. UPIE takes the side of warmth and comfort over cold, functional light. It shines light on itself, suggesting its presence in a room almost the same way a night light would — discreetly affirming its presence and offering comfort.
It also helps that it is beautifully made with love and care in France by @poetree_objets , using local woods and at very affordable prices.
MAP is inspired by wind maps showing the direction of warm winds. It defines a visual area designed for resting, evoking that comforting feeling of a warm breeze. @filipe_viricel .
