Good nights and good mornings

In my quest to draw more than just characters I wanted to do a piece inspired by color keys in animation. I've never thought much about lighting as an animator, so I think this is bringing out more vivid and earnest expression in my art.
A cold and hueless city

Sunday sketch. Since I rarely do backgrounds/landscapes, I was kind of lost in how I should approach it, so I asked ChatGPT to generate concepts until I got somewhere in the ballpark where I wanted, and used as a reference to paint by hand. But more accurately, painted by lasso/marque tool.

This might be a tad controversial but I would like to be transparent and acknowledge this was my first time playing around with AI to generate some patterns and assets which I utilized in my art. This is because of my inexperience in certain design fields. Of course, a large part of it is laziness in order to not have to draw every little tiny detail by hand, but the research into the design will always be approached with the same amount of thought and sensitivity.
I hope it does not diminish the sincerity of my work. My art has always been deeply personal and truthful to my heart.
