Final day in Istanbul.
One more factory meeting to button up the details… and then a celebratory lunch honoring Claire’s upcoming birthday and 36 years of Double D Ranch. Thirty-six years of creativity, courage, and building something enduring from a small Texas town that now reaches far beyond it.
This trip has been incredible — truly all highs and highs. Meaningful work, inspiring partnerships, laughter in between meetings, and the reminder that what we build at home can resonate around the world.
Ten years ago, @doubledranch invited me into this adventure. What a ride it’s been. Grateful doesn’t quite cover it.
Several more meetings at undisclosed locations (we can’t tell you everything 😉), plenty of crisscrossing this incredible city, and a few last-minute “brother, special price for you!” negotiations at the Grand Bazaar to wrap up souvenirs for friends back home.
By now, Audrey is basically a local — confidently navigating the winding streets of the Old City at night like she’s had a flat there for years.
Everything we captured today is in black and white — allowing some mystery to remain for future collections. But the dinner at Spago Istanbul by Wolfgang Puck? That deserved to be in full color.
Bittersweet to see the a week of momentum, mystery, and meaningful work in Istanbul begin to wrap up.
Today was spent deep in the details — working alongside our supplier partners to merchandise new products for fall collections. Fabric in hand. Color stories unfolding. Silhouettes evolving. That’s where the real magic happens.

Today was all about research & development.

Whatever your pursuit — but especially in creative fields — there is endless inspiration waiting when you step outside your normal frame. In fashion, R&D isn’t just sketching in a studio. It’s experiencing new designers, silhouettes, materials, techniques… and letting your eye wander into an entirely new visual world.
There’s something powerful about studying creativity in a city that has reinvented itself time and time again — from Byzantium to Constantinople to modern Istanbul. Layers of culture, craftsmanship, and artistry everywhere you look. And the cats — everywhere. Revered, welcomed, wandering confidently through the most sophisticated hotels and restaurants as if they own the place. (They might.)
We also celebrated Claire a little early at Cipriani Istanbul, where the staff made her feel incredibly special. And, of course, the ladies snuck in some shopping.
A successful day of inspiration in the former Constantinople.

Spent the morning getting thoroughly out-negotiated (but thoroughly entertained) at the Grand Bazaar — where the art of the haggle is alive and well, and apparently I have hundreds of new “brothers.”
Walking these streets, you can’t help but stand in awe of a city that’s been Byzantium, Constantinople, and now Istanbul — layers of history stacked on every corner. The architecture, the call to prayer, the Bosphorus breeze… it’s humbling.
And lunch at Avlu at the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet was the perfect pause — a modern take on Anatolian cuisine that somehow feels both ancient and completely new.
Come for the business trip. Leave with stories.

Despite the plot twist, the evening turned into a true bucket-list moment at Nobu Istanbul — Bosphorus views, world-class flavors, and the incredible honor of meeting the legend himself, Nobu Matsuhisa.
From delayed bags to unforgettable hospitality — and the best part? Mrs. Nobu will soon be sporting @doubledranch . Now that’s a global collaboration we didn’t see coming. 🌎✨
