‘23✨ I used to beg for never ending change. I would thrive when my world was in constant rotation. Never stopping for a breath or to take a moment to marvel at how far I’ve come. This year was the first year of rest I’ve had in nearly a decade. It felt like the universe, god, whatever you call it, stripped my life down to the bones. It’s left a lot of time for contemplating. About myself, my life, where I’m headed and where I’ve been. What I’ve learned is that control is the antithesis of peace and happiness. Water the garden in front of you no matter how withered and dry it may be. Something from it is bound to grow. I feel more connected to my craft than ever. More sad, more grounded, more angry than ever. And although, in some ways, I’ve felt freedom slip through my fingers, I feel more free than ever. Free to create. Free to be. Free from my own obsession with control and free to go wherever the next year takes me.

Amsterdam on some really over exposed and blurry film. If anyone has some tips for a clueless first timer on how to actually use a film camera and take decent pictures, my DMs are wide open.
