What more could I possibly wish for? What a flawless spring day. Every person I have encountered can’t help but remark how utterly gorgeous this gentle sunshine is. I keep pausing to remind myself to soak it up and not just hurry through my endless list of tasks and concerns. It’s okay to just bask in the loveliness once in a while.

Fun little project- i just grab tiny video snippets, 2 or 3 seconds every day, and weave them into a mosaic of my month. This is my second month doing it. I find it very comforting. It’s nice to see hear songs and frogs, quiet times and celebrations. 🐸 I constantly feel like I am falling behind on social media. I don’t have it in me to manufacture fake enthusiasm or pretend that I am some sort of entertainer. I am just me. Lately I feel more contemplative than extroverted. Sorry that I get quiet sometimes. I am still here, attentive and caring. I am figuring out how to use my voice in a way that feels like it contributes to the greater good, rather than just trying to draw attention to myself so I can sell you stuff. Don’t you resent having to please the Algorithm? More and more I am inclined to just post unoptimized,sloppy, rambling realness. This may mean I show up less in your feed. Hopefully you will still peek your head in to say hi sometimes 🙂

Who remembers Free to Be You and Me? Gosh, life seemed so simple and hopeful (not to mention groooovy!) back then. I just rewatched it on YouTube and it was like having smiley sudsy bubbles cleanse the cynicism out of my tired soul. It was so comforting that I decided to make Free to Be You and Me the theme of my upcoming Coat Collection. In a way, I hope that the goofy, earnest softness of my meager knit offerings might provide a similar comfort. It can feel surreal and tone deaf to interrupt the high stakes, doom scroll newsfeed with something as frivolous as patchwork sweater coats. I constantly have to coach myself that “keeping calm and carrying on” is an important aspect of resistance as the world changes so swiftly. I think of how grateful I am for the soldiers of Beauty and Humor and Music and Dance that keep shining as black smoke billows behind them. And the reason we link arms and march forward is in hopes that we can create a world resplendent with joyful expressions. We fight for the dance, we dance for the fight!
