I somehow slept on the news that @xianfamousfoods was back in the #eastvillage AND #unionsquare areas, so when I realized I immediately popped by for the spicy and tingly beef muscle noodles and a chrysanthemum tea.

Finally got myself over to @smackingburger , the gas station burger joint in the West Village.
I got the Big Smack, a double patty burger with plenty of meat, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and pickles; I love a fresh fast-good type burger like this. And the crispy fries were awesome, crispy as promised and just salty enough.
Oh, and I love that they have a Pup Burger on the menu for doggos! If you’re in the neighborhood and walking Fido, grab one for both of you. 🐶🍔

Today I gave the vanilla butter soft serve from @papadamournyc a try it did not disappoint. it’s buttery and salty and the ice cream itself is very light, so the whole thing is not overwhelming.
As a former ice cream maker and scooper, I really appreciated the mochi at the bottom of the cone which prevented leaks.
Though tasty, it’s probably a one and done item. I don’t think I’ll be craving it again in the future. But what really surprised me were all the savory dishes. There’s definitely a bunch of little bites I’d love to try, so I’ll be back for them.
