Last year in February, I started my business with zero clients.
But my journey didnât begin there.
Years ago, my father strongly wanted me to study Nursing and travel abroad. To him, it meant security. Stability. A clear path.
Instead, I chose to study Mass Communication.
We argued about that decision throughout my four years in university. It wasnât easy. It wasnât comfortable. But I knew I had to build a life that aligned with who I truly was.
In 2024, I decided to learn lash extensions and trained under someone. Even after training, I struggled with doubt. I questioned myself. I wondered if I was making the right choices.
Later that year, I humbled myself and went back to train and work under someone else to sharpen my skills and understand the business deeper. For three months, I worked without a salary only stipends. It was a refining season. A stretching season. One that built my discipline and resilience.
In January 2025, I made another decision to stand on my own.
By February 2025, I officially started my business alone, with zero clients.
Today, I operate my own beauty studio built from scratch within a year.
The journey wasnât glamorous. It wasnât linear. It required courage, humility, faith, and consistency.
Iâm not yet where I ultimately want to be, but Iâm no longer where I started. I believe God has so much more ahead of me, and Iâm excited to explore every opportunity, every lesson, and every level of growth that comes with it.
This Womenâs Day, I celebrate every woman choosing her own path even when itâs uncomfortable, unconventional, or misunderstood.
Sometimes strength looks like disagreement.
Sometimes it looks like apprenticeship.
Sometimes it looks like starting from zero.
But growth always honors courage.
Happy International Womenâs Day. đ¸
