Throwback one year ago today / Loved Jasmine Amy Rogerās as Betty Boop (and the iconic Faith Prince was in the show as well) in BOOP the musical- it was just the injection of Joy and laughter I needed at the time and my Homie Ricky went with me (despite being a straight 6 ft 4 Cuban guy with no interest!) a true brother to me, šš¤
Sheep Detective (it was excellent sweet humane heartfelt and an excellent mystery ⦠that I figured out in like 20 minutes but Iām like that!) šæš
Happy Heavenly Mothers Day Mom lost you last year 2nd Motherās Day without you ⦠Miss you mi negrita this was us on your final trip to Puerto Rico (we were at the beach neither of us got in the water but they made the best Cuchi Frito there and we had those awesome Alcapurriaās) just two short years ago ā¤ļøšµš·š
Me and my Homie Ricky went to the MOMA today. It was packed. Havenāt been to the MOMA in over a decade (if not longer) not since before they did their renovation. The place looks spectacular. Took way too many pictures. We went to see the Frida Kahlo Diego Rivera exhibit. It was a little underwhelming, but the rest of the collections are absolutely extraordinary Vincent Van Goghās Starry night literally took my breath away. Itās gorgeous in person towards the end of making the rounds we found a room where you could take a portrait of yourself with props and a set! (and of course I took the opportunity to flame out! š„š¤š) and draw a piece of art and put it into a portfolio filled with other peopleās art. Rickyās art is a bit more advanced than mine (heās so talented) but I thought my original piece āIce cubes at the MOMA!ā was quite cute fun day with a great friend.šš¤š¤Ŗ
Thank goodness TodayTix sends out reminders 24 hours before your performance bought a ticket to this about two months ago Iād completely forgotten lol / actually got to see this show last December when it was playing uptown at the York (black box Theatre beneath St. Jeans Church) it was excellent loved it kind of like a Jerome Robbins Broadway, or a Fosse. Itās a retrospective of some of the best dance numbers in Broadway History performed by a super talented group of Broadway gypsies that dance their asses off, but sing live with a small Orchestra! Including Music and the mirror from a Chorus Line and dance pieces from Westside story, Contact, an American in Paris, Singing in the rain etc. etc. it was excellent once again now moved to stage 42 on 42nd St. a huge off Broadway house (where I saw Romy & Michelle the musical) decided to treat myself to the movies afterwards and saw Hokum with Adam Scott, directed by Damien McCarthy (he directed oddity, which is one of my favorite horror films of last year.) it was excellent as well. Adam portrays a super unlikable writer who goes to Ireland to the place where his parents had their honeymoon to spread their ashes and gets himself embroiled in supernatural witchy shenanigans! Perfect rainy Wednesday afternoon in New York City š¤š šæš
One year ago today went to see THUNDERBOLTS! With the logical fam. The only ones not pictured are ShāDiamond (the Bestie) She was taking the picture (and my dear pal, Ricky, my straight Bro from another Mo) what would I do without these handsome talented accomplished compassionate decent awesome guys in my life theyāve held me together, taken me to task and loved me unconditionally, we have John a.k.a. Jaba, Michael Dass, Eric a.k.a. Booby Von Trapp (making a special guest appearance from St. Petersburg, Florida) and my Gay daughter Roberto Olmo / FAMILY.ā¤ļøš¤š
Interesting grainy grind house visual aesthetic, a definitely creepy looking and dangerous antagonist and they splurged to get Sean Williams Scott for what mustāve been only three or 4 days and yet they use him effectively (he classes the joint up) unfortunately a mediocre script and a truly awful lead performance by Fabianne Therese as our final girl make this an āinterestingā swing but a total miss/mess šæ
Yesterday the House of Montego which was created in my honor had an amazing weekend at the Ultra Ball, Slayed the runway and snatched trophies. I couldnāt be prouder of all the young artist in that up-and-coming legendary house. And it reminded me of my beautiful mother. La Carmin De Puerto Rico šµš·/ The one year anniversary of her passing was this month. She was an incredible artist in her own right an actual Diva that sang all over the world received accolades and many prestigious awards in her honor for her incredible talent, and at the beginning of her long career she used to snatch Trophies to! Just like me and just like the kids in the house of Montego the lineage continues. My heart is full today. Love you Mom ā¤ļøššš„¹š¤
