…Introducing our next seasonal beverage! Kinako Matcha— Vanilla-matcha latte topped with a classic kinako cream. Kinako, a roasted soy bean powder, popular in Japanese confectionery, brings a bold, nutty flavor to the drink. This, together with the natural sweetness of our organic matcha, is a harmonious pairing for the winter season that we think you’ll love. Served iced or hot. 📷 @garrettryanhanson

…Up next on our winter menu! Ube Latte— Our housemade ube halaya, made with steamed milk and vanilla. Ube halaya is a traditional Filipino jam, with a vibrant color and gentle flavor notes of marshmallow, pistachio and coconut. We introduced this drink two years ago, and it was so popular we had to bring it back. If you have a sweet tooth, this one’s for you! 📷 @garrettryanhanson

Introducing our next seasonal beverage! Fortune Latte— I was thinking of my teenage years, as a server in my parents’ Chinese restaurant, and how formative those years were for me as a young person. My family worked hard, every day. Through our efforts, and the care we put into our food, we connected with our community. We would send out a fortune cookie with each order, and on slower days I let my young imagination run wild; it seemed like a magical token, a cosmic element to a meal, and made me feel, in a way, like a humble fortune-teller or a psychic medium, handing out small predictions from the beyond, to all the faces I would see in a day. A combination of toasted genmaicha green tea, paired with the savory-sweetness of our ginger-soy honey, is an homage to the flavors we used so often in our restaurant. The drink is served with a classic fortune cookie, which brings recognition to my long history in customer service, and a nod to American-Chinese restaurants and families. 📷 : @garrettryanhanson

I’m so excited to bring The Resolution Garden pop-up to Miro Tea Saturday, Dec 6 from 2–4pm! ✨ If you’ve been craving a slow moment to reflect, reset, and get intentional for 2026, this pop-up is the way to do it. We’ll make framed intention pieces using pressed flowers, sip tea, and set goals that actually feel good. Would love to see you there 💛

We’re excited to announce our fall and winter beverages this week! This time around I wanted a cohesive narrative to our menu, something more personal to me than times before— and I decided on recipes which reflect my childhood, my family, and our origins… First up! Baecha — As a child in Korea, during the colder months, I fondly remember being served steamed pears with jujube and honey, as a remedy for coughs and congestion. They were a great comfort to me then and after each bite, I’d feel a little bit better. We’ve recreated it as a drink this season, out of nostalgia for my childhood, and to add to the menu a traditional healing recipe that feels true to my roots. We hope you enjoy. 🍂

Another fall arrives — crisp, colorful, familiar. We find ourselves reaching for warmth again — a cozy evening indoors, steam off our mugs, the resonant murmur of good company, and close friends becoming closer… At Miro, it’s warm. The shop fills up with the sweet smell of roasted oolongs, bergamot, and hojicha. We watch the leaves change from green to gold through the big windows, and each brew feels like a moment of reflection, of transition, of letting go. Every autumn reminds us that nothing stays still for long, not the weather, nor the earth, nor us. And yet, in the midst of all that rapid movement, we return to these simple rituals, and find peace. Come in soon. Make time for you. 🍂 📷- @garrettryanhanson

The most beautiful experiences often come from acting randomly on a spark of inspiration. @ricemarketdc has been one of our wholesale partners since the pandemic, and that connection has always meant so much to me. They found us at a time when every single order felt like it kept us afloat. Ever since, I’ve wanted to thank Sak in person for his support. So when the chance came to visit D.C. for fun, I jumped on it and offered The Rice Market to teach a class for them. The Rice Market is truly a gem. A trifecta consisting of a grocery store, a restaurant, and a gathering space that has built such a loyal community. Meeting a fellow business owner who’s been at it longer than I have, with so much care for detail, community, and craft (he even arranged all the bouquets himself!) was inspiring. It reminded me how powerful that combination is when you experience it firsthand. The attendees were wonderful as well! They were a reminder that tea lovers everywhere share the same kind, open spirit. This was the first time I’ve ever taught a tea class outside Seattle, but now the bug has bitten. I had so much fun I’m already planning a return…and dreaming about where else I might go next. Let me know if you’d like a tea class in your town. I just might pop up. 😉

After 8 years, since our last remodel, we’ve redesigned our space. It might sound small, but for us, it feels like a renewal. The way our space holds us—and all of you—matters. We wanted to make a change that invites even more gathering, laughter, and quiet afternoons of tea, shared side by side. As we relax and reflect in this new space, we’re looking toward something even bigger: the grand opening of our new tea studio. It’s been a dream in the making for years and we’re almost there. We couldn’t be more grateful to have worked with the amazing teams at @wearecuniform and @graypantsstudio in bringing our humble vision to life. Their creativity and care helped us bring to form what we think “home” means in a teahouse. We’re so excited to share more with you soon. For now, we hope this new layout brings you closer to each other, and to the moments that matter. — Jeannie Liu, owner and founder of Miro Tea and Tea Studio 1518 📷 : @garrettryanhanson

Today’s the last day to experience our current seating setup! We’ll be closed on 7/29 for a little store glow-up, installing new light fixtures and refreshing our furnishings. We can’t wait to welcome you back into a newly reimagined space. Hope you’ll love what we’ve been working on 📷: @anuh.del.sur

Is your matcha clumpy, lumpy, and hard to whisk? The good news is you probably have a high grade matcha (our Ceremonial Homare Matcha is used here). Most high-grade matcha’s are so finely ground that the tea particles like to stick together—thanks to static electricity and humidity. The best fix? Always sift your matcha before adding water and whisking. Our new Matcha Sifter Canisters keep your matcha fresh in an airtight container, and come with a removable fine mesh sifter and bamboo paddle to help you sift directly into your tea bowl. If you’re a daily matcha drinker, this is the perfect setup for your routine. Available in Black and Eggshell, in our Seattle shop and on our website.
