Tanned + excited + more tolerant: Miromida’ s young people are back from Kultur Kiddos, Madeira! The Kultur Kiddos Erasmus+ Youth Exchange organized by Föreningen Framtidståget for French, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese and Latvian young people on beautiful Madeira island aimedto explore and reflect on a variety of important themes, including culture, identity, migration and integration, and intercultural dialogue. Miroslavs: “The "Kulturkiddos" project taught us to accept ourselves as we are and not give up on our path and uniqueness. We had a wonderful time on a beautiful island, one can only dream of such an experience, but we really experienced it.” Anfisa: “The project made me realise how different people are and i learned a lot about other cultures and religions.” Anna Marija: “This project taught me to be more open-minded, patient, and confident while working and living together with very different people for 10 days.” Rūdis: “From this project I’m taking friendships, culture, and the things I learned in this project like being more open to others and going out of comfort zone." Rihards: “The Kultur Kiddos project focused on exploring the themes of culture and identity in an ever changing world and social environment, particularly at the backdrop of globalization and migration." Raimonds: “Kultur Kiddos in Madeira brought together young people from different countries to share cultures, ideas and experiences through creative activities and teamwork." Elena: “I really enjoyed my Erasmus experience in Madeira. What surprised me the most was the people, they were very friendly, understanding, and open-minded. Everyone was interested in getting to know each other and was always ready to help if someone needed it."

During our LadyLeader Generations workshop with kindergarten teachers in “Gregucis” (Teika), we explored what it means to move beyond control and perfection - softening the lines, finding the balance, learning to be brave, to take steps forward. LadyLeader Generations is a KA2 Small-Scale Partnership project coordinated by Fundacja Pro Omnis (Poland) in a partnership with InterArt Foundation (Bulgaria) and Miromida (Latvia). The project aims to empower women across all generations, from young girls to seniors, by enhancing their leadership skills and encouraging active community involvement through innovative, non-formal education methods, fostering self-awareness, courage, and a balance between femininity and leadership. This will be achieved through gender leadership coaching by an improved LadyLeader study programme for women with a chance for follow-up, and a transformation board game. We – young people from Kaunata (Viktorija, Matīss, Valērija, Ričards, Raitis, Artjoms and Aleksandrs) – believe that the Latgalian language and culture are a treasure that must be passed on 💛 That’s why, together with the NGO “Miromida”, we have created the European Solidarity Corps project “Latgolas Lizeika”.
