It is with great pleasure that we introduce and welcome the newly appointed Fire-Rescue Chief, Ray Perez. Chief Perez has served in Miramar since 2014 as the Fire Life Safety Bureau Chief and Fire Marshal. Chief Perez is a highly accomplished and decorated leader, bringing a distinguished 37-year career with a wide breadth of knowledge, technical skills, and experience into his appointment. During his tenure, Chief Perez has received many accolades having been awarded multiple lifesaving awards, distinguished service awards and executive excellence awards. While serving in Miramar in 2015, Chief Perez was awarded the “Florida Fire Marshal of the Year” designation by the Florida Governor for his innovative and progressive leadership within the Department. Check out Chief Perez’s full bio and letter to the Community on our website at https://www.miramarfl.gov/955/Office-of-the-Fire-Rescue-Chief and join us March 10 at 5:00 pm in the City of Miramar Commission Chambers to welcome Chief Perez at his official swearing in Ceremony. #FireRescueChief #Firefighers #Chief #FireDepartment #MiramarFD

We had a great time at the senior walk 2 wellness! Our senior center members and those from all our Broward cities did a wonderful job getting out and getting active. During #HeartMonth is the perfect time to remember how going for regular walks can manage or prevent various conditions, including heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure. #NationalHeartMonth #GetActive #BeProactive #TheMoreYouKnow
