Miracle 33 is my (Jon) new project/collective/label (band?) that connects poetry, music and audio/visual art in an attempt to capture the spontaneous and intuitive elements of collaboration, creation and assembly!
I’m so so honored to have so many friends who have supported me in my work (and this one has been a looong time coming, since January!) but particularly grateful for the genius who is Ben Coleman! He worked with me for weeks to to compose and produce all of the music in this piece, he understands the project so deeply and is such a generous collaborator! I’m also thankful for Ben’s sister Corrie Aune, who along with being an extremely gifted photographer, also has a lovely voice that she lent to the piece. Additionally, the great Daniel Folgado! Who lent his time, energy and resources to mix and master all the audio present!
And of course, Emmanuel Terrell, who lent some additional footage and encouragement as my archive started to grow thin.
And thank YOU! I appreciate everyone, too many to count, who have had big and small parts in my development as an artist, writer, filmmaker, as well as this project in particular. Some I know very well, others I’ve just been (heavily) inspired by. But regardless of how you come to this, if you’re here, you more than likely have a piece of yourself in this work, and I’m so excited to share it with you and ecstatic about what comes next.
(Also hi from Edinburgh, Scotland where I’m pursuing a Masters in Creative Writing - Poetry for the next year <3)
