Introducing
@miotsuneyama &
@fuminori_nousaku , leading ‘Making Knots, Weaving Shed’ as part of the 🟡 International Emerging Workshop. [2/2]
Mio Tsuneyama and Fuminori Nousaku are Tokyo-based architects. Fuminori is the founder of Fuminori Nousaku Architects, while Mio co-founded
@studio_mnm . Since 2024, they have collaborated under HOLES and have received a Special Mention at the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale.
Together, they engage with ecosystems through critical architectural practice. Their projects, including Holes in the House, focus on on-site resources and material flows. They also explore buildings that coexist with healthy soil, such as Akeno Raised Floor. 💡 The workshop ‘Making Knots, Weaving Shed’ extends their focus, challenging established notions of strength in architecture.
→ The International Emerging Workshop will take place in Barcelona from 🗓️ 19 to 27 June 2026. Participants will engage in collaborative explorations through studio work, site visits and open exchanges. The results of the work will be exhibited during the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026.
