Ridden—Indonesian: ditunggangi; Japanese: 憑依—refers to the invisible energy resting on one’s shoulders. In this sensory performance, Leu and Mio remix years of research on the human-environment relationship after a disaster. They transform it into a form of dance that oscillates between ritual, sport, and band performance. Between destruction and renewal, this work explores the human relationship with nature and the strange, endless cycle of just trying to survive.

In RIDDEN, Leu and Mio remix years of research on the human-environment relationship after a disaster. They transform it into a form of dance that oscillates between ritual, sport, and band performance. Between destruction and renewal, this work explores the human relationship with nature and the strange, endless cycle of just trying to survive. Kitamachi No.4
Built in the 1940s during the Japanese rule period, the Japanese-style building complex located in the civil rights area of Taitung City, opposite Taitung Women's Middle School, distributed in the section of Siv Road, Zhongshan Road, Baosang Road, and Lane 404 Baosang Road. A total of 27 families, including the current Baocheng Arts Center and Taitung Hakka School. Among them, 17 were teaching dormitory that originally belonged to Taitung Women's Middle School and Taitung High School during the Japanese rule. Its detailed construction method and obvious regional characteristics, has been fully landed as a historical building in Taitung County in 2007.
The performance's "Kitamachi No. 4" is located at the intersection of Lane 404 Baosang Road and Lane 154, Zhongshan Road. The house style belongs to a separate long house "double house" divided into two used houses, one of the most common forms of Japanese architecture at the time.
