Between the plants of a greenhouse, in the middle of a working atelier, in private apartments or high above the city on the rooftops of Paris. That’s what Minor Proof is about: music where you’d never think to look for it 🔊

Originally from Tel Aviv, keyboardist and producer Yoni Mayraz arrived in London in 2020, bringing with him a jazz sound infused with the spirit of 90s New York hip-hop and Middle Eastern influences. London, a city renowned for its musical diversity, proved the perfect setting for his style to flourish. Following his first EP Rough Cuts and the critically acclaimed Dybbuk Tse!, he went on to collaborate with artists such as Tenderlonious of Ruby Rushton and dance music legend El-B, before unveiling his latest album Dogs Bark Babies Cry.
“Dogs Bark Babies Cry stands for the moment when a commotion takes place. Dogs start barking, babies cry. It’s an ominous sound, yet a natural one — something that can be heard from afar,” explains Mayraz.
A devotee of improvised music and the harmonies of modal jazz, Yoni Mayraz is an ardent admirer of A Love Supreme by John Coltrane, a work that has had a notable influence on his own music.

Reunited around saxophonist Ornella Noulet and a shared devotion to the spiritual jazz of John Coltrane, OLA TUNJI is a Brussels-based quartet whose music channels the intensity and openness of the 1960s “New Thing” movement.
Their name pays homage to Babatunde Olatunji, the Nigerian-born percussionist and close friend of John Coltrane, who introduced African drumming to jazz audiences in the U.S.
Deeply inspired by John and Alice Coltrane, and Pharoah Sanders, the group embraces improvisation as a political and spiritual act. On stage, their performances often take on a trance-like intensity, carrying musicians and audience alike toward a sense of shared elevation.
