I had a small idea a couple years ago to design/print a series of music genre signs using wood type from my collection. Next came a list of all the genres that I could think of. Currently the list has over 90 (and growing) names as well as complementary phrases. As of this month I’ve printed editions of 12 genres and 2 phrases from this Sound Sign series. The plan is to add atleast one a month for…..a while. I just listed all the Sound Signs editions for sale on my site. This Saturday we welcome MINITIGER @minitigertime , a talented multi-disciplinary artist, designer, and seasoned DJ from Knoxville, TN. Sarah Shebaro's current creative identity is most comfortable existing in the space between audio and visual. As MINITIGER @minitigertime , she's a seasoned cross-genre DJ, often collaborating with other to organize and promote events. As a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Knoxville, TN, she often creates and prints the flyers to said events. Shebaro also owns and operates SHAPES WITH NO NAMES @shapeswithno , another hybrid space (an actual brick and mortar), where she prints commissioned letterpress and Risograph posters, makes visual art, teaches workshops, and hosts the occasional cultural community event.
