Dear listener, this mix is dedicated to my driving desire for mixing & dancing to techno; — in all its emotional, futuristic, freaky, sassy shapes & colors. This is the final mix I recorded in our beloved studio at Urbanstr. 113. I spent over a year mixing these records & this set feels like the closest I’ve come to expressing my vision of techno as pure positivity, energy & freedom. With this mix, I sense a new awareness in my DJing, opening my mind & igniting a fierce curiosity for what I will play next. Mininik is a vinyl DJ, music producer, and party curator, returning to light up our night with his signature tapestry of eclectic sound. ACID BABIES return to Zur Klappe @zur_klappe on Friday, September 12th. A late summer night of raw grooves, deep rhythms, and collective release on the dance floor. For this edition, we welcome a special guest: Manolo @___manolo_________ , a sound engineer, DJ, and Producer based in Berlin. His eclectic and raw style has brought him to be able to play various clubs, festivals, and DIY dance floors around Europe and The United States such at the The Sound Room at Public Records and Saule/ Ostgut. His sound is focused on Disco, boogie, 80's and 90s. Whether Manolo is slowly and soulfully warming up a dancefloor or beatin down the speakers, he is often taking inspiration from the sound of the dancefloors such as The Muzik Box, Paradise Garage, Zanzibar, and The Loft. The easiest way to summarize his taste is that he plays music for adults.
