Last Friday we had our long awaited first session at Nansledan and it did not disappoint. It was so lovely to be able to welcome more little ones ans their families to Mini Glow. Our next session in Nansledan is the 3rd July. I can't wait to meet more of you!

This week we packed our wellies and headed off on a bear hunt through St Austell and Camborne 🐻 There was squelchy mud, coconut, lots of little footprints, plenty of giggles and some very brave Mini Mess Makers exploring every tray 💛 Watching the children grow in confidence each week, especially with new textures and messy play, is honestly one of my favourite things about these sessions. “Isn’t it just playing?” Sometimes, yes. Sometimes it’s giggles, spaghetti in hair, and oats in places you’ll still be finding three days later. But sometimes… it’s so much more. I recently received this message from a parent whose little one experiences food aversion, and with permission, I wanted to share a tiny glimpse into how powerful messy play can be. Through gentle, pressure free exploration at Mini Mess Makers, she’s been learning to tolerate different food textures outside of mealtimes. Coconut touching her hands without panic. Strawberry juice dripping down her arm while she stayed calm and engaged. Oats stuck to her fingers without fear. Even spending a few minutes exploring cornflakes, which once would have felt impossible. No pressure to eat. No expectations. Just safe, child led sensory play. Her therapist agrees it’s helping, and reading “it has been a massive part of our journey” honestly stopped me in my tracks for a moment. 🥹 Messy play supports so many children in ways we often don’t see immediately. Confidence, sensory processing, emotional regulation, curiosity, fine motor skills… and sometimes even helping a child rebuild trust with food textures they once feared. “We’re going on a bear hunt… we’re going to catch a big one…” 🐻🤎 Yesterday was our final Mini Mess Makers session in Camborne and what a beautiful way to end this chapter. The room was full of muddy paws, messy faces, bear hunt adventures and so many familiar little faces that have grown up with us over the last 3 years. From swishy grass and squelchy mud to chocolatey smiles like this one, it really was the perfect send off 🥹 Thank you to every single family who has supported our Camborne sessions over the years. Whether you came once, every week, celebrated birthdays with us or watched your tiny baby grow into a confident little explorer in our trays… thank you. After 3 wonderful, messy, memory-filled years… tomorrow will be our last session in Camborne 💛 This hasn’t been an easy decision at all. Numbers have been a little quieter lately and with ingredient costs rising, it’s become harder to keep things sustainable here. I’m so proud of what we’ve created at The Holman Sports Club… the laughter, the friendships, the tiny footprints (literally everywhere 😅) and all of your amazing little mess makers growing in confidence week by week. I really hope this isn’t goodbye forever, just a “see you later”… and that one day we’ll be back 🤞 For now, you can still find us monthly in St Austell, Redruth and Helston 💚 If you can, please come and join us tomorrow at 10am for one last messy play together. I would absolutely love to see as many of you as possible 🫶 Let’s make it a special one ✨
