A Colorful History 🎨

This fluorite hails from the Cave-In-Rock area of Southern Illinois.
•
Though no specific mine was listed, the old tags tell a story of their own, as this mineral was a gift to (or from) Chuck and Marge for meritous service in the "Rock Exchange Club" in 1977.
•
Pieces like this where there's a bit of history, perhaps shrouded in mystery, are what make collecting a fascinating hobby.

I've always been a fan of minerals with a sinister science fiction aesthetic and this Stanley Butte, Arizona andradite perfectly fits the bill.

I love the slight bevels on the specimens from this pocket and the large edge size for the locality produces dramatic results.
