Overthinking is the consequence of trying to have too much control.
You canât control the possible negative outcomes, and so you start overthinking them because you think somehow if you think about them enough youâll be able to control them.
It so creates an illusion of control.
Does caring less actually help you?
âCause if I donât care about something or someone, I donât, I donât know everything at all.
It, it doesnât help you, it just makes that situation irrelevant to you.
And so it doesnât actually help you because you still have to solve the problem when you do care.
No one should have to accept the toxic version of anyone.
So when youâre going, âThis is who I am, you have to accept me,â you need to look in the mirror and go, âAm I toxic?â
And if youâre toxic, you need to detox because no relationship can survive the constant toxicity of a person who thinks being toxic is just who they are.
And hereâs the critical thing.
Thereâs something that gets rooted in our psyche where when love and toxicity somehow end up in the same chemical compound, we feel like weâre not being loved unless weâre in a toxic relationship.

â
I actually think that when a man is strong, a woman has the capacity to be strong too.
A strong man doesnât need a weak woman.
A weak man needs a weak woman.
A strong man actually needs a strong woman because theyâre gonna be living a life that requires strength.
Culture has been trying to make men weaker so that women can, quote, âbe stronger.â
Thatâs a terrible strategy, and I think thatâs why a lot of women are going to remain single because we have developed strong women, and weâve actually developed weak men, and now women canât find a man that isnât intimidated by them.
You better be a pretty strong guy if youâre not gonna be intimidated by a strong woman.
Weâre all asking about how much can AI evolve, but no one is asking the really big question.
How much can humans evolve?
See, because every time we create a technology, humans expand.
So Iâm like, oh my gosh.
If AI does achieve consciousness, weâre going to have a human experience that goes beyond that consciousness.
You may go, âIâm not gonna use AI.â
To me, thatâs like saying, âIâm gonna keep using my horse and buggy.
Iâm never gonna drive a car âcause cars are evil.â
There are people who decide, âIâm gonna resist the future by ignoring the technology thatâs created.â
But eventually you realize, oh, that technology is now just human experience.
And there are people who fought cars, there are people who fought light, there are people who fought computers, there are people who fought calculators.
I imagine there are people who fought fire.
âDonât play with fire!â
When you look at the people of Iran, itâs just like El Salvador.
The people who are from those countries understand the oppression theyâve lived under.
For me, as a Salvadoran coming from one of the most violent countries in the world, everyone criticizes Bukele because of how he brought peace to our country.
Everyone who criticizes, youâre in this idealistic utopia in your mind because the world doesnât get better the way you think it gets better.
And itâs the same thing in Iran.
I wish the people of Iran could be free.
I wish somehow there could be a toppling of that regime and that the Iranian people could actually have democracy and freedom.
Specifically for women who are treated as animals or treated as possessions and tools in that country.

â
I think most things will have the potential of being replaced by AI.
But I think the reality is that the thing that is irreplaceable is human touch, is organic to organic matter, is human to human, heart to heart.
Thereâs so much data around that.
I just wonder, will AI be able to love rather than to pattern recognition love?
Like, where it creates all the patterns of love.
Will it be able to carry hope?
These are the attributes that have protected humanity from destruction.
The fact that thereâs always an undercurrent of love and hope and faith, and that drives the human story forward in the midst of all of our violence and chaos and disarray and imperfection.
If we donât find a way to help AI be informed by that, itâs gonna be an interesting kind of journey.
Weâre back new episode out tomorrow!
â
Itâs a terrifying thing when you think about the fact that weâre not good at getting out of wars.
We stayed in Afghanistan way too long.
We find ourselves embedded too deeply in other nations.
But wow, when I see twenty, thirty thousand people being massacred by the Iranian governmentâŚ
I donât understand how all the people who rallied and protested and felt violated as a human for whatâs going on in Gaza seem to have zero effect in their soul what was going on in Iran.
And so sometimes I wonder if human empathy is really just a political mechanism.
And not really a sincere connection of the human spirit
When youâre overthinking, youâre pretending youâre trying to decide what to do.
Youâre not.
Youâre actually trying to decide how eliminate the consequences or the risk.
So the overthinking is about trying to control outcomes rather than to choose action.
The truth is you donât have control over your outcomes.
I think one of the switches that changes you from moving into overthinking is, do I know what to do?
Just do it, even if you donât know the outcome.
Every time I write a book, I donât know if anyoneâs gonna buy it.
I could spend my whole life... In fact, I know a lot of people who have a book in them and have never written it because theyâre so afraid of what the final product will be.
The book in your head is not as good as the book on paper because it doesnât exist, and I think overthinking is really trapped in our trying to control the outcomes rather than identify the action.
You already know what to do.
Just do it.

A lot of religious people who are highly dogmatic are the ones hiding their secret lives.
People who donât want you to see them will choose churches that only talk about doctrine because it never talks about them.
You donât have to deal with you.
And your life and your heart.
Some people go, âWhy donât you speak on doctrine?â
While theyâre having an affair or theyâre cheating in their business.
Dogma is a great way to hide your brokenness.

Never let your struggle be your identity.
So oftentimes, we tell ourselves who we are from the worst perspective of ourselves.
All of us need people in our lives that they listen to us, they hear the inner narrative thatâs leaking out.
And then they challenge it and go, âNo.
Thatâs your struggle.
Thatâs not your identity.â
