While some have commended the Federal Government regarding the restriction placed on the sale and use this fatal agro-chemical product, sniper.
I call it; SCRATCHING THE WALLS!
This can be likened to patching a leaking foundation until the whole building finally collapses.
When you stall, you invariably beacon a greater destruction.
In fact, in this case, they might have actually created more harm than good...
HOW?.... 1. What happens to thousands of Nigerians who make a living from the production and sale of this product; increased unemployment
2. What about the poor Nigerians who can only afford Sniper as an insecticide. Now this means, more reports of malaria, typhoid, cholera and other insect -causing diseases and flooding of hospitals with critically ill patients without health insurance who can barely feed themselves.
Our government, as a matter of urgency, need to go back to the drawing board and find the root of this trending problem; SUICIDE!
They should know that banning sniper will not reduce depression, heartbreak, unemployment, illiteracy, ignorance, unwanted pregnancies, barbaric practices and stigmatization.
Rather, they should work towards:
1. Creating Job opportunities
2. Awareness and building of self esteem
3. Free Education & Sex Education
4. Early Counseling intervention & Rehabilitation
5. Entrepreneurial programs and youth empowerment
Our young ones should be taught that the best revenge is success.
Forget the old saying that time heals...
Actually, SUCCESS heals fasters and better.
And Rome was never built in a day, life is full of ups and down.
Until then, Please someone should be appointed to constantly remind the Government, that there are still other uncountable means to end a supposed miserable life.
And to everyone, it's all about mindset.

According the punch Newpapaer, "Abia State Governor Alex Otti has made a strong call for more women in government, particularly in the legislative arm.
Otti, who spoke on Wednesday in Onu – Igbere, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State during the burial of Mrs Chiamaka Joyce Ibekwe, the deceased wife of the member representing Bende North State Constituency, Nnamdi Ibekwe, announced his approval of a request to erect monuments in honour of Abia women made by Ibekwe.
He noted that Abia women had always been great from time immemorial, adding that the request by Ibekwe was not a personal one.
The governor pointed out that the time had come for women to be given the pride of place, and urged members of the State House of Assembly to give more consideration to women, while also urging the women to do their due diligence to make it work".
