A few weeks ago while Kira and I were taking walks in Ridgewood Park, we had a couple of interesting bird sightings because of the waterways that run by the park.
This is an Egyptian geese, technically shelducks, more closely related to ducks than true geese. Native to Africa, they have also been introduced in Europe and parts of the U.S., including Texas. Distinctive features include a dark patch around the staring pale eye, a pale creamy-brown body, and pink legs.

This is a a juvenile American white ibis, juveniles have a mottled brown and white plumage.
As a White person in the midst of all this immigration turmoil I have never understood by being White makes someone superior over another person, especially a race, or as is stated in one of my favorite songs ever . . .

Though I don't get to go to Corkscrew BBQ @corkscrewbbq monthly anymore, I do make sure that Will's @pitmaster_buckman crazy delicious brisket is still my favorite Birthday present to myself. I always like to enjoy it with my favorite secret sauce!
