I had to lean into Trust when I first started to move this incredible sculpture by Vazha Mikaberidze currently in Pietrasanta, Italy. I couldn’t quite believe it wasn’t going to topple over 😆 Soon enough I was feeling awe, amazement and joy. It got me thinking about words I’d heard on a retreat several years ago that have stuck with me… TRUST IS THE ANTIDOTE TO WORRY Worry is what happens when we try to control what we can’t see or understand. We run the scenarios, rehearse the disasters, and exhaust ourselves preparing for outcomes that rarely arrive. It feels productive. It isn’t. The antidote isn’t optimism — pretending everything will be fine. It’s trust. Trust that we’ve done what we can. Trust that others are capable. Trust that uncertainty isn’t the same as danger. Trust that we don’t have to know or understand everything. Worry keeps us living in a future that doesn’t exist yet. Trust brings us back to the present — where, most of the time, things are okay. Today I wore green. In Qigong, green is the colour of the Wood element — the energy of Spring — associated with the liver, and when we practice Wood movements we cultivate resilience, adaptability, kindness and generosity. Visualising bright green in the area of the liver, or simply wearing green can help release stagnant energy while supporting liver health and encouraging new growth and new hope. Wearing green today also brought back a wonderful memory of the Green Goddess from 80s morning television — Diana Moran, famously described as having flex appeal 😉 So here’s me, in green, in Goddess posture 😊 In Yoga the Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana) is a powerful standing, wide-legged squat that opens the hips and strengthens the lower body, embodying confidence and strength. 💚
