🌐 RETROSPECT: Cybersociety Gallery Artist_
» @minamxt
We warmly welcome back Mina, a Chinese-Australian artist and designer based in Naarm/Melbourne. She combines textural mediums with a flat style, exploring complex emotions tied to her childhood and life experiences.
Her work "143", meaning "I love you", is inspired by the early 2000s computer virus known as ILOVEYOU, also called the "Love Letter" or "Love Bug" virus. Some of Mina's fondest childhood memories were of playing on the family computer, and she was always slightly afraid that she would accidentally download a virus. 143 is an ode to the early days of the internet, a time that felt like the digital Wild West - everything was new, exciting and a little dangerous.
Catch Mina’s "143" in person (and maybe catch the Love Bug virus while you’re at it) by securing a ticket via the link in our bio! 🔗✨️

The feeling of summer last year. I wish it could have lasted forever (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ
After discovering oil pastels, I’ve become obsessed! It feels so refreshing to create traditionally again.

Dearest friends, how are you?
A lot has changed since we last spoke. I left my full time design job, and over the past six months I’ve committed myself completely to my art.
I wanted to start this page over to commemorate this new beginning. I’m very excited to share some of my work with you now! ⊹ ࣪ ˖
The original sketch for this piece was done in 2023. I think I always knew subconsciously that an office job was not for me...
Let’s speak again soon,
Mina 💌
