It’s taken me time and space, to find the words and I still don’t think I have it right - losing my dad has been hard. 💔
He was a kind soul - pragmatic, practical, and endlessly curious. An observer, quiet, and enjoyed the background. My dad was the kind of person who would measure five times before cutting once, and still double-check just to be sure.
My dad made sure I could stand on my own (starting with my first outfitted toolbox when I moved out) and showed up in the steady, simple ways that mattered - like being the best linesman at my soccer games.
He shaped more of who I am than he probably realized. I learned a lot from him, and I’ll keep trying to make him proud - probably while doing something he’d shake his head at, then secretly approve of. 🥰
