The Right Whale Southern Right whale with her little bub at sunset in one of my favourite spots in WA. The sun was starting to go down and it was a nice chilled moment before the calf started to breach. I will post those photos next. Shot within the guidelines, cropped and edited with the local researchers providing the inspiration. #southernright #WhaleWatching #Marinemammals #OceanConservation #WildlifePhotography #greatsouthernreef #ausgeo #WhaleMigration #ExploreTheOcean #WildlifePlanet #OceanLovers #westisbest #southwest #SaveTheWhales #westernaustralia #abcmyphoto

🪼 Red Bell Jellyfish 🪼 (Crambione mastigophora) First frame shared from the new Nikon Z6iii freshly sealed inside its shiny new Ikelite housing. Big shoutout to the team at Digital Diver for getting it to me just in time. No test dives, no warm up, just does it hold vacuum, packed the gear, and sent it straight to Exmouth. I was frothing to see how this camera handled underwater. On land, it’s a huge step up in speed and focus from the previous model. But water changes everything. This was the real test. Subject? A classic Exmouth local the Red Bell Jelly. It might not make the Ningaloo Big Five, but it’s ridiculously photogenic. And honestly, I reckon the Z6iii passed with flying colours. šŸ“ø Nikon Z6iii + 14–30mm f/4 | Ikelite housing | Natural light ISO 250 | 1/250s | f11 šŸ“ Ningaloo Reef, Cape Range National Park, Exmouth, WA Next test: macro mode. I’m keen. #RedBellJellyfish #CrambioneMastigophora #NikonZ6iii #Ikelite #NingalooReef #DigitalDiver #UnderwaterWA #MarineLifeWA #JellyfishEncounter #UnderwaterTestShot #NewRig #WildBlueWonders #ExmouthDiving #CapeRangeNationalPark #NaturalLightUnderwater #ausgeo #abcmyphoto

Syngnathidae obsession. The past few months I haven’t been chasing much else. No sharks, dolphins or sea lions Just this strange family of fish… seahorses and dragons. There are more than 2000 images sitting on hard drives waiting to see the light of day… but instead of editing I keep strapping on a tank and heading back out. This Leafy Seadragon portrait came from one of the many night dives at Lucky Bay during the recent trip. I really liked the angle as it drifted pass. Still blows my mind that animals like this exist in the ocean. #leafyseadragon #syngnathidae #underwaterphotography #marinewildlife #esperance

Bird Nemesis..... Southern Emu Wren. These little birds have been on top of my bird bucket list for a while and after a fair few failed attempts they have kinda become my nemesis. A quick mission down to Cheynes Beach to try find some whales on their migration north and a side quest of Southern Emu Wrens. So between spotting blows on the horizon I could quietly watch the bushes for movement of the tiny wrens. Definitely not done with these little guys and hopefully can improve on these shots next time. Shout out to local legend and epic photographer @birding_by_tania for the tips NIkon Z6iii, Nikkor Z 180-600mm f5.6-6.3 #birdnemesis #SouthernEmuWren #mynikonlife #abcmyphoto #westernaustralia

Torn. Tiger sharks have been on my list for a long time. This week I finally got lucky… although the juvenile humpback the shark was feeding on definitely didn’t. Nature is raw, efficient and sometimes hard to watch. The circle of life playing out in real time. I’m stoked to finally capture tiger shark footage, but still a little torn by the scene. As humpback numbers continue to recover, more whales make the journey… and more won’t complete it. This was very early in the migration season, and I’m hoping to capture the next chapter in a less morbid way breaching, cruising north, and doing what they do best. #tigershark #humpbackwhale #perth #natureismetal #shark

Photo Bomber. As an underwater photographer who has recently rebranded to Mr Seahorse, a cuttlefish was doing everything they could to ruin my shot and steal the limelight from this couple. āž”ļø Swipe to the end to see the cuttlefish portrait, once I gave in. #ikelite #digitaldiver #cuttlefish #mynikonlife #seahorse

Bored yet? Another seahorse dive done and dusted. I did manage to take photos of some other species but I this is a seahorse account now so guess we will never see them. 17 Seahorse dives so far this year and and counting. #ikelite #mynikonlife #seahorse #mrseahorse #closeupwideangle

Seahorse Maxxing. The art of taking as many seahorses as possible before the weather window closes. This was the last dive, only have another 10 dives to process. Last shot is my favourite reminds me of the Homer into the bushes meme / gif #ikelite #mynikonlife #seahorse #maxxing #mrseahorse

Backlit Not really my normal style, but it's been fun to push my skills and body positioning. Hand holding my strobe disconnected from my housing, at maximum arm extension to get the desired result in camera. #ikelite #mynikonlife #seahorse #backlit #mrseahorse

Mr Seahorse. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck… it’s probably a duck. At this point, it’s looking more like I’ve become the seahorse guy. I’m not fighting it anymore. This might just be a seahorse tribute account for the foreseeable future. #seahorse #hippocampus #ikelite #underwaterphotography #mynikonlife

As the unofficial Kaarakin release photographer, I try to share moments of these beautiful birds returning to freedom, but sometimes I wonder if the Redtails miss the group chat about the release plan… This stubborn Redtail needed a little help from @breannabrown2002 to find the exit of the carrier before making its way back to the wild and for a brief moment, you get a glimpse of what it might see on release day. I slowed down the takeoff because honestly… what’s better than a Black Cockatoo finding its way back to where it belongs in slow-mo. Volunteers put in countless hours to make this 30sec release happen. #blackcockatoo #kaarakin #wildliferehab #birdrelease #conservation
