"Please, give us the equality we deserve with public schools - funding, the ability to keep funding that we have received, and to offer us continued support. We simply could not exist and operate without that funding." #FundThe4201s #SupportOurStudents

While growing up, Amy learned English and Spanish, but wasn't able to learn sign language. Not until she moved to @millneckschool . The school has helped her develop and grow tremendously.
Now a freshman, Amy is asking elected officials and @govkathyhochul to increase funding for 4201 Schools to support teachers and staff, sustain school programs and services, and address necessary building and campus updates.

We’re proud to recognize the three students who attended the recent Advocacy Day trip and were honored at our last school board meeting. 👏
Through their bravery and willingness to speak up, they helped legislators better understand the vital and challenging work our teachers do every day. Their voices truly make a difference.
It’s our shared responsibility to ensure every child can develop and thrive in a safe, healthy learning environment. Increased state funding will give @4201schools the tools needed to continue supporting student success.

Innovation in Action at Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf
At Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, our students are not only learning about technology in the classroom but also applying it in meaningful, practical ways across our campus.
Since the installation of the 3D printers, our students have been hard at work designing and creating a variety of innovative projects, from handshape ASL to practical tools. The possibilities are endless.
One exciting example is how we are using our 3D printers to design and produce nameplates for classrooms and office spaces throughout the school. These custom-made signs demonstrate how student creativity and technology can support real and purposeful needs within our school community.
Through the use of 3D printing technology, our students are designing and creating a variety of innovative projects. From creative models and engineering prototypes to practical tools, the possibilities are endless.
This hands-on experience allows students to:
• Apply problem-solving and design thinking
• Develop skills in engineering, technology, and digital design
• See how classroom learning connects directly to real-world applications
At Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, we believe in preparing our students not just for graduation, but for the future workforce and the world beyond the classroom.
Stay tuned for more amazing creations coming out of our STEAM and Makerspace programs.
