My name is Omolara Bankole, owner of Larabee Hats in Surulere Lagos, Nigeria and a member of the Milliners Association of Nigeria. I coordinated the 2026 World Hat Walk in Nigeria and it was a good experience organizing with the other states' coordinators. I anchored Lagos and liased with the coordinators in Abuja, Akwa-Ibom, Asaba, and Ogun state to make sure we have a good walk. Judging from the Lagos walk and all the pictures and videos sent in from the other states, it was indeed a good one again this year. As an association, we joined other countries of the world to walk for unity, visibility, networking and in general to create awareness for the millinery industry and I believe the walk helped us achieve this. Hello, My name is Praise Akindoyin and I'm the Creative Director of HOD Millinery Couture fondly known as Hand Of Diamond. I participated in the 2026 World Hat Walk from Lagos, Nigeria @millinersnetworkng and I made a hat named World Walk Hat. This hat was named after the occasion because the occasion inspired the design. The design consists of elements in the world such as grasses, trees, 51 national flags, people, cars, water and road. These elements exist on planet Earth which has been represented with a chocolate brown base. Due to my background in architecture, I have been able to create this masterpiece by applying my architectural design skills. The idea behind this design was to bring to life women around the world walking boldly and unapologetically with a hat on. It's more than a walk, it's a celebration of creativity, culture and the art of millinery. I hope that women around the world, regardless of your number in your nation, are encouraged to express your unique personality by wearing a hat.
