Cover Art & Scene Breakdown 2: Mystic Queen

We fell in love with the Antique elevator scene so much that we made it the cover. That simple. Such a iconic feel and color. The lighting covered the subjects from up top creating shadow by the jaw line and one of my strengths has been using practical lighting within scenes. It keeps the shot neutral and realistic.
We made sure The Boss aka Hitwoman commanded his attention throughout. Everywhere she went he was there.
I always wanted try a Scorsese scene and the quick hand and cigarette scene was just that. My ode to the goat. Hence I kept the clip in the edit a second longer ha! And lastly while I hate cigarettes there usefulness over the years in film always added an aesthetic to filmmaking, for me it was the actors nervousness within the situation. For instance, in Tony Scott/Tarantino’s True romance when Dennis Hoppers Character request a smoke from Christopher Walkin before telling him he was part eggplant etc it reminded me of some of these scenes.
And of course that knife scene was from classic horror flicks where you’d see the knife rise then dive off camera into a blood splatter against a wall or something. Didn’t want to get too graphic but I hope you all enjoyed this video as much as we enjoyed making it. Big thanks to everyone involved, You know who you are. See y’all soon.

The reason we decided to keep this scene out is while there weren’t any vocal dialogue the body language carried extreme tension. We wanted to viewers to imagine what could be going through @laon.a.x mind as he was standing next too a woman he feared and loved. This scene didn’t make the cut more due to the songs length but furthermore would have brightened the video up and created a color blip. The idea was to keep everything dark. Who knows it may still be used one day! - @iamsalmz
