Along with John Peel he was, for me the most influential radio presenter of all time. He introduced me to music I didn’t know existed. The Four Brothers, Thomas Mapfumo, Hank Williams, The Oldham Tinkers, The Swan Silvertones, Salif Keita to name just a few. He was the first person to play me Bob Dylan and bluegrass and Cajun music. So long Andy.
