Last week, I celebrated five years since getting initiated to Ifá Isese in 2021 in New Orleans 🥹🥹🥹
In my opinion, there are so many types of initiations that we go through in life, so many ways that Spirit challenges us to continue diving deeper to move passed illusions that inhibit us from personal and spiritual growth. They can come in the form of personal internal struggles, relationships with lovers, global calamities, you name it! Often times, they are cyclical in nature.
It takes true bravery and courage to face those parts of ourselves that are the most hurt, the most vulnerable. But this is the path of the shaman, the shadow worker, the witch.
It ain’t easy, to say the least, but I have so much gratitude to my Ancestors, Ifá, Sango, Osun and my Higher Self for protecting me and showing me a way to continuously break through when I couldn’t even see the path ahead of me.

Black in Three Voices
I’m excited to share this set with you on 10:PM Radio.
I built this as a small world—
three ideas I’ve been holding about myself, all speaking at once.
First, a sense of tribe.
Belonging.
An identity shaped in and through community.
Second, my relationship to the church—
not necessarily religion, but a spiritual imprint that still lives in me.
A way of feeling, of reaching, of remembering.
Third, a political desire for freedom.
Asking what freedom actually looks like in my life.
Can it be shaking ass?
Can it be deep reflection?
Can it hold both at once?
This set moves through all of that while still being a vibe—
something to smoke to,
to dance to,
to make love to,
to sit with yourself inside of.
And yeah… I might let a track ride.
Six, seven minutes.
Because when the groove is right, I’m not rushing past that moment—
especially not the vocals that sneak in at the 5:43 mark
