SHEFFIELD | Yesterday Candice Swallow had the time of her life in her new sparkly top for the launch of the ‘Artworks SY 2026’ exhibition - showcasing the work of learning disabled and autistic artists internationally. At
@millenium_gallery in Sheffield until June, you have plenty of time to visit. Being blind, Candice appreciated the visual descriptions that everyone gave when they were speaking, and enjoyed meeting other people in the room. She was also shortlisted for the ‘Rising Visonary Award’ which was a great honour for Candice. Thanks to
@artworks.together for a lovely afternoon, Candice was looking forward to telling others at
@thepartnership in Blackpool about the event today!
“The exhibition brings together a vibrant and ambitious collection of contemporary work that celebrates colour, innovation and artistic excellence. Across painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, film and more, the artworks explore urgent social, political, environmental and cultural themes, while offering nuanced perspectives that challenge narrow assumptions about who artists are and whose voices are valued. Featuring artists from South Yorkshire to South Asia, North Yorkshire to North America and beyond, the exhibition highlights the breadth and depth of artistic practice by artists who have a learning disability and autistic artists working internationally today.”
